Well, it is now time for the various jazz festivals and other music festivals to start popping up around the Chicago area.  The great thing about Chicago is that there are jazz festival everywhere.  Not everyone wants to get downtown or even knows how to get downtown.  Paying to park down there is a lot of money and can be a huge pain the butt.  Thanks to WDCB I now know about at least one festival for your folks in the far-western suburbs.

Just doing some surfing around this thing they call the World Wide Web and I found a couple of websites about jazz that I thought I would share with you.  The strange thing is, well, that they are a bit strange.  The first one is “Classic Jazz Stories” which is written and maintained by a guy named Jim Cullum, Jr.

The Up and Coming Musicians

There’s nothing like listening to and finding the up and coming talents in an area of music.  I remember attending concerts during my senior year at Webster University and hearing some great musicians playing their hearts out for their senior recitals and performances.  You just knew these people were going to go places, and were playing because they loved the music.

Well, I guess with the problems trying to get back to Chicago this week coupled with the issues the server was having with the various b5media blogs, I kind of missed a key performer in my chosen beat here in Chicago.  That would be, of course, the legendary B.
