The Chicago Jazz Festival is coming and it’s coming up fast. This is a good thing, even if you are disappointed that it also means the end of summer is fast approaching. It’s a great thing if you happen to be a fan of jazz music. It’s an opportunity to see more jazz than you could even imagine. The entire city is a jazz metropolis during the weekend of the festival and the various jazz clubs go all-out for the people in fromt out of town.

The month of August is nearly upon us. This means the summer, as far as schools and the cit of Chicago is concerned, is amost over. Chicago always has a festival season that starts with the Chicago Blues Festival and then it ends with the Chicago Jazz Festival. The Festival is nearly upon us, folks! Macomb is a city not far from Chicago. It is also a college town as Western Illinois University is there. It is known as a party town. Of course, colleges are some of the best places to see great jazz. Well, Macomb has a jazz festival that you should probably know about as part of my “Jazz Tours of the Midwest” tirade lately. It’s hard to believe it’s Thursday already.  How do the weeks go by so fast?  It’s going to be Christmas again in the blink of an eye at this rate.  Of course, this weekend is evidently going to be cold again around here in Chicago.  So, again, it’s a good weekend to go see a show.  I want to thank, as always, WDCB for the information below about the performances around Chicago.  There’s even a jazz festival in the suburbs to tell you about.

So, you can’t make it to the Chicago Jazz Festival this weekend?  It’s not a big deal.  That’s the great thing about living in a city like Chicago, you can always find another jazz or blues festival.  I am sure that cities like New York have the same thing.  I am betting each suburb and section of the city has a jazz festival at some point.  To me, L.A. always seemed a bit too shallow and soulless for that, but that’s me.
