More on Buddy

by balaspa on January 2nd, 2008

I am kind of psyched about this Buddy Guy performing throughout January thing.  I have not seen him perform live and in person.  I have seen Buddy performing live on television and his performance during his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame still leaves me breathless to think about, but I have never stood in a crowd and watched him play.  I am thinking that this January I may have to change that.

I do strongly suggest you check out Buddy Guy’s Legends home page.  You can do so by clicking right HERE.  You can find out directions to the place and all kinds of great information there.  I am completely borrowing their schedule for January 2008 to place right here.

If you’ve never sen Buddy Guy perform live, you should drop all your plans, load your nascent niece on your back and hit straight for the next Buddy concert. He is a performer alright! I’ve watched him twice, once in a seated auditorium and open air the second time. He has this unique calibre to involve his audience. Suddenly in the middle of a song, he’ll walk down the stage with his guitar and mingle ith the guests. In Mumbi, he was playing Mustang Sally and duing the refrain, Ride Sally Ride, he would ask a lady or a gent some innocuous question. he would then include their response as a part of his song an he would pluck the strings for that inimitable Buddy wail. He sure is worth every minute you spend ith him. Truly a genius. I saw him last year and now the age is showing, a tad bit…
