Jazz in Chicago’s Humboldt Park
Right in the heart of Chicago’s Puerto Rican community is a park called Humboldt Park. Within that park is an open-air boathouse. Within that area, every year, the organization known as Jazz in Chicago holds a Latin Jazz Festival. It is one day every summer and it is totally, and completely free.
This year the event is being held July 11, 2008. That would be today, in case you don’t have a calendar handy. In case you are not familiar with Jazz in Chicago, well, you should check out the link above. They are another all-volunteer, all-donation-based kind of organizatio that is around to put on great shows, festivals and promote jazz in this city and across the country. They do a lot of great work. So, I would encourage you to support them as much as possible.
