Chicago Latin Jazz Festival at Humboldt Park Boathouse

The Chicago Jazz and Heritage Program is a collaboration between the Chicago Park District and the Jazz Institute of Chicago.  This collaboration began in 1997 and continues through this day.  The series of summer concerts the program puts together is known as “

Jazz City.”  This year

Jazz City is putting on the Latin Jazz Festival at the

Humboldt Park open-air Boathouse.

 

This puts the festival right in the heart of

Chicago’s Puerto Rican community. Three bands will be taking the stage and they are: Richie Pillot’s

Havana
, Conjunto and Evolution Trio.  Each of them performs a form of Latin Jazz, with slight variations.

 

The festival will start at 7:30 PM and run until 9:30 PM.  The festival is on July 13.  The cost can’t be beat because it’s free.
