Another Chicago Jazz Festival at Historic Theatre
The Chicago area has a lot of jazz festivals. This stands to reason, of course, because Chicago is one of the preeminent jazz cities in the world. Sometimes you can even run across a new jazz festival just by walking around downtown. That’s what happened to me this weekend.
I had a friend come in from out of town. He stayed at a hotel downtown and we went for a walk around the city. While walking through the theater district we walked past the historic Chicago Theatre. Right there, on the marquee, was the notice for the “JVC Jazz Festival.”
You can view more information about the festival at www.festivalproductions.net. The Festival is three days, and actually scattered at a few locations such as Navy Pier, House of Blues and The Green Mill.
The festival starts on July 20 and 21st. The lineup features The Neville Brothers, Steel Pulse, and Jazz Attack. Jazz Attack features Rick Braun, Peter White, Jonathan Butler and Richard Elliot.
Check out the festival, but also keep your eyes open when you visit the Windy City. With a musical culture as thick as the one we have here a great musical happening could be happening right around the corner.
