A Favor and a Link
I have other interests besides music and jazz. One of those is film. I have never really made a film, although starred in a couple of fims my friends made for college classes. One of the cool things about being a writer, though, is that sometimes you meet people who do films. None of them have ever done a film about anything I have ever written, but hey, why nitpick?
So, I am hoping I don’t get in trouble for doing this, but this entry has everything to do with my love of film and nothing to do with jazz or music. I have a friend named Nic who has a company called Bitter Jest and they do all kinds of film. They will make a film for your company.
However, they also do cool stuff like the film you can see right here. It’s a very straight-forward movie. It’s what you might call a documentary and it’s about a local Chicago actor named Tim O’Malley. It’s pretty good. It deals with what it means to be a working actor, getting near achieving your dreams, and then seeing those dreams getting yanked away.
So, please, pardon my diversion. Please take a moment to watch the film. It’s about 15 minutes long. Then, take a moment to vote yes or no for the film and, if you can figure out how to do it, comment on it. It means a lot to my friends and I think it’s a good enough little short film to merit it.
I appreciate your indulgence and I shall return soon with more jazz.
I swear.
