Weekend Events in Soggy Chicago

Well, I wanted to write about a couple of music festival that featured jazz music going on in the suburbs of Chicago this up-coming weekend.  The problem I have now is that I have no idea if these events are still going on.  Chicago has been hit by a week of horrible weather.  Last night was the worst yet with flooding, power outages, and more.  Since the events I have here are outdoor events, I have no idea if they are still going on.  Bring your ponchoes.

So, I got these from the only all-jazz radio station in town, WDCB.  Visit their site for lots of great jazz information and to listen online.

Jazzin’ on the Lake

Sunday, August 26; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Jazzin’ at the Lake is presented by 90.9fm WDCB Public Radio, and the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, as part of the two-day Glen Ellyn Festival of the Arts at Lake Ellyn on Saturday and Sunday, August 25th & 26th. The performers for this year’s festival include:

11:00 Green Mill Jazz Quartet

12:30 Paulinho Garcia Latin Duo

2:00 Scott Burns Jazz Quartet

3:30 Chicago Salty Dogs Dixieland Band

Lake Ellyn Park
645 Lenox Road

Glen Ellyn

Telephone:     (630) 858-3628
That concert is part of an entire weekend of events in Glen Ellyn.  It is known as the Glen Ellyn Festival of Arts.  It starts on Saturday.

August 25 – 26; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The entire weekend is full of music and other arts-related events.  Check it out, and stay for the jazz on Sunday.
